Rangitahi College is in Murupara a small Forestry town of about 2000 people lying
on the edge of the Kaingaroa Forest.
Murupara is rich in Culture and outdoors' activities.
It is known as the gateway to the Urewera National Park. New Zealand's largest National Park incorporating
Lakes Waikaremoana and Waikareiti.
The town has reason to boast about its closeness to some of the world's best Trout Fly Fishing
waters. The Rangitaiki and Whirinaki rivers skirt the town, the Whaeo and Horomanga rivers are only minutes away as are Lakes
Aniwhenua and Rerewhakaaitu.
